For
more than 100 years, chemical peels have been used to tighten
skin, reduce wrinkling, and restore a more youthful appearance.
Different peel solutions tighten the skin, reduce wrinkling,
and restore a more youthful appearance. Certain solutions
have been designed specifically to improve acne, calm rosacea,
or lighten sun-damaged skin. They can be applied to both face
and body. |
| At
the Dermatology Group, our medical aestheticians administer
a peel designed specifically for your problem and skin type.
Most patients feel a warm or tingling sensation that lasts
for 10 minutes or less. Your reaction to a chemical peel will
be similar to a sunburn: some redness, followed by scaling
and flaking of dead skin cells for 2 to 4 days. Deeper peels
cause longer flaking. Afterward, you must avoid any sun exposure.
Apply a full-spectrum sunscreen every day to protect your
sensitive new skin. Your aesthetician will also prescribe
products to help your skin renew itself quickly. |
