Talk to Me About CoolSculpting®

At The Derm Group, we want all of our patients to have access to the latest and most effective cosmetic procedures. That’s why we are now offering CoolSculpting® (or cryolipolysis) at all of our locations. This non-invasive procedure will selectively reduce fat layers in problem areas by literally freezing fat cells. You know those areas that just won’t go away no matter how much you work out? Fat freezing reduces those pesky little pouches after only a few treatments with results appearing in 1-3 months. Some things are just worth the wait.

How Does CoolSculpting Work?

Using different-sized panels bespoke to each patient, the applicator holds skin in place with suction and delivers a controlled cooling to target fat cells and freeze them. These cells die, are naturally processed by the body, and eliminated over the next few months. It’s that simple.

What Areas Can Be Treated

In the U.S., this procedure is FDA-approved for treatment of visible fat bulges in the problem areas including the double chin, love handles, abs, thigh, back and bra fat, underneath the butt (the “banana roll”), and the upper arms.

Are There Side Effects to Fat Freezing?

During the procedure, you might feel a bit of pulling, intense cold, or a bit of aching. This is normal and will subside when the area becomes numb. Don’t worry, you won’t find any damage to your skin or the surrounding tissue. If you’ve had the procedure done on your neck, you may feel a sensation of fullness in the back of the throat afterwards. These effects are temporary and usually disappear within days.
