Microblading is a technique that fills, shapes, and defines your eyebrows with long-lasting, natural-looking results. Microblading specialists at The Derm Group use precise strokes and an eye for aesthetics to deposit pigment under the skin’s surface with a specialized hand tool designed specifically for the procedure.
How Is Microblading Performed?
Your provider starts by determining the best brow shape for your face and blending a custom brow color. A numbing cream is applied to ensure your comfort. Once you’re comfortable, the provider begins to measure and draw the outline of your new eyebrows without shaving your existing brows. When you’re happy with the new shape and style, the microblading process begins. The treatment is performed by depositing pigment into the second layer of the skin using very fine hair-like strokes. The semi-permanent tattoo technique used creates the illusion of fuller brows.
Who Can Benefit from Microblading?
Women who want to fill in sparse eyebrows or add definition and shape often come in for microblading procedures. We offer customized solutions to patients with common concerns about their brows by helping reconstruct, define, cover gaps or fill-in over-plucked eyebrows. Microblading can correct years of over-tweezing/waxing and can give your brows the shape you desire.
The benefits of microblading include:
- No daily hassle of grooming eyebrows
- Smudged makeup a thing of the past
- Lasts up to 3 years
- Pigment maintains its color
- Creates natural-looking brows for women who have lost their hair

What to Expect
Most clients notice their brows appear quite dark during the first few days after the microblading procedure. Results become 30% to 50% lighter after some scabbing and flaking of the pigment. This is normal and no cause for worry. As long as you listen to and strictly follow the aftercare instructions, you won’t have any long-term issues or concerns.
We encourage patients to schedule a follow-up appointment 4 to 6 weeks after their initial microblading appointment to make sure they are happy with the results or for little tweaks. Results can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years, depending on your skin type (the ink fades faster on oily skin), products, and lifestyle. It’s also important to use sunscreen to help extend the longevity of your brows.
